By now you have caught on to the trend here at Haze Gray Apparel that we want to recognize a wide range of specialized communities within the Navy and Marine Corps. Those that served in submarines had a very different experience than did, say somebody else in another role serving in the Fleet Marine Force - and they met totally different challenges.
These various specialized communities speak to the very essence of both services - to take the fight to the enemy of our nation wherever they are to be found, and dominate in the air, at sea, and on land.
This month it is time to salute those in the brown-shoe Navy. All those various 'airdale' rates committed to keeping aircraft operational, and bring aircrews back to home-plate safely.
The Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist insignia is a military badge of the United States Navy which was created in March 1980. The insignia recognizes those members of the Navy's enlisted force who have acquired the specific professional skills, knowledge, and military experience that result in qualification for service in the aviation activities of the Navy. This includes most personnel who are trained flight deck personnel onboard aircraft carriers, or maintenance personnel at an Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment or Department or aircraft squadron.
I've seen first-hand the commitment and willingness to do what it takes to maintain operational readiness, and all those that have qualified for the EAWS wings, you should wear them with pride. You earned them.
Finally I am very proud to present a few t-shirts and hoodies to our EAWS qualified shipmates.
